2024-2027 Region 6 Plan Public Notice

A draft of the 2024-2027 Workforce Development Regional Plan update for Region 6 is now available for review and comment at the Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc., 124 Osigian Boulevard, Suite A, Warner Robins, Georgia, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or on the Consortium’s website at https://www.middlegaworks.com.

The regional plan describes the workforce development needs of Region 6, an eleven-county area, which includes Baldwin, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson Counties. It also describes the local One-Stop workforce development delivery system, planned employment and training activities, and performance levels for participants enrolled in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) activities, which includes Adults, Youth and Dislocated Worker services.

Local leadership for Region 6 Workforce Development system described in the plan; includes LWDA 11’s Executive Committee of local elected officials; business-led Workforce Development Board; the Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc., Administrative Entity and Baldwin County Government as fiscal agent for WIOA. The Middle Georgia Workforce System is also accepting applications for training organizations to become Eligible Training Providers for local Workforce areas in Georgia under the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This notice does not apply to training providers and programs that are automatically eligible or exempt under WIOA.

Applications should include the programs of study requested for approval. Approved programs are eligible to receive referrals of adults and dislocated workers who may then be enrolled in the training and have their expenses reimbursed with WIOA funds by the Middle Georgia Workforce Region 6 or other local WIOA workforce development partners. Expenses reimbursed may include tuition, fees, books and supplies. Training included in the application must exist at the time of application and courses must be currently available. Other requirements also apply.

Provider applications must be approved by the Middle Georgia Workforce Development Board and Executive Committee, and will then be forwarded to the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Workforce Development (TCSG,OWD) for review. Upon successful completion of the TCSG,OWD review, the training provider and its approved programs will be included on the State’s Eligible Provider List and published throughout statewide one-stop centers.
