It is natural for students to feel unsure about what they would like to do in life. I felt a lot of pressure when asked, “Do you know what you are going to do in college?”, because I did not know what I wanted to do. Then, one day my mom told me about the Career Compass Academy (CCA) Virtual Work Readiness Program and we immediately thought it was a great idea and gave it a try. Enrolling in the five week program was one of the best things I have done for myself. It led me to the path I’ve decided to take today. As a visual learner myself, the Virtual Work Experience program was right up my alley.
The program was fun, engaging, and very informational. I even had the chance to earn $1,000.00 over the course of the five-week program. I was able to set aside the $1,000.00 I earned to pay for college supplies. I especially liked that we got to talk to experts from different high demand industries and learn from them by asking questions. Because of being a participant in the CCA Program, I am now confident in where I want to go in life. This fall, I will be starting my first semester of college at Jackson State University where I will be majoring in biology on a pre-med track. My ultimate goal is to become a Physician Assistant and help educate underserved communities with valuable health information. Thank you so much Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc. (Worksource Middle Georgia) for this amazing opportunity.
